Treatment stacking: why combination treatments have become indispensable.
Why combination treatments with Fraxel, skin boosters, polynucleotides and more are in such demand right now, and simply make sense.
In aesthetics, a new attitude has taken hold in recent years. More and more people want results that look natural and do not change them drastically or make them look artificial. Instead of individual procedures such as anti-wrinkle injections or fillers, which act in a very concentrated way on one problem area, a concept that understands the skin as a system is moving to the fore: holistic combination treatments, also known as treatment stacking. The idea behind it is to combine different minimally invasive methods so that they reinforce one another – coordinated, in a precise sequence and with a clear, long-term goal.
This new generation of treatment planning is oriented towards the biology of the skin. Ageing is never one-dimensional: structure, elasticity, pigmentation, volume and facial expression change together. Accordingly, the most modern approaches also work in several layers – they strengthen, stimulate and refine the different layers of the skin. The result is not an effect that disappears tomorrow, but a complexion that improves week by week – and in several dimensions at once.
The art of interplay
A combination treatment is like a well-composed score. Each method plays one note, but harmony only arises when they are tuned to one another. Combinations are always individual, but there are proven routines for common patient concerns and wishes.
1. Skin with acne scars and enlarged pores
With an uneven skin texture, regeneration is the focus. Treatment then usually begins with the Fraxel Dual laser, which creates microscopic renewal zones in the skin and stimulates new collagen formation. Depending on the starting point, three to five sessions at intervals of four to six weeks are recommended. Immediately afterwards, depending on preference, polynucleotides or PRP are used: they support cell regeneration and speed up healing.
The skin usually shows a more even relief after two to three weeks, and the full effect develops after about three months. The results stay stable for 12 to 18 months but can be maintained with annual top-ups.
2. Glow and lifting
For a firmer, radiant complexion with a natural lifting effect, treatment often begins with Thermage FLX. Using targeted radiofrequency pulses, the treatment tightens the deeper collagen layers and improves elasticity. It is carried out once a year, as the stimulating effect lasts for up to twelve months and continues to build over several weeks.
About six to eight weeks later the Fraxel Dual laser follows, to refine the skin surface and even out pigment irregularities. Skin boosters then intensify moisture content over one to three sessions and give the typical “inner glow”.
The final result shows after two to three months, once new collagen structures have consolidated. With appropriate care, the effect stays visible for up to a year and a half before a repeat is recommended.

3. Advanced skin laxity
When the skin loses density, the best effect comes from deep stimulation. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) boosts collagen formation over months and is usually injected in two to three sessions six weeks apart. After three to four months visible tightening appears, lasting up to two years.
In addition, a thread lift provides an immediate lift of the facial contours and extra stimulation of the connective tissue. This treatment is usually repeated every 18 to 24 months.
For balanced proportions, skin fillers are used in a targeted way – usually once or twice a year – while finely dosed Botox harmonises facial expression and is refreshed every four to six months. The result combines structure, expression and naturalness.
Less downtime, more effect
One of the biggest advantages of treatment stacking is efficiency. By combining several methods in one session or at coordinated intervals, recovery time is shortened considerably. Instead of commuting between different appointments for weeks, the skin goes through only one concentrated regeneration phase – and achieves more intensive results at the same time. The biological processes are also put to optimal use: after a Thermage treatment the tissue is particularly receptive to biostimulating substances; after a laser the skin absorbs active ingredients better. This creates a “window of effect” that is used deliberately. It saves time, increases effectiveness – and leads to results that look more natural and last longer.
A successful combination treatment goes unnoticed because it fits in with your own anatomy. The face does not look different – simply better: clearer, calmer, fuller, more awake.
And that is ultimately the core of this new approach. Treatment stacking is not a trend method but a philosophy. It rests on knowledge, timing and intuition – on the understanding that beauty begins where the skin is not overshaped but accompanied.
At Innerform every combination is designed individually – adapted to skin condition, lifestyle and aesthetic goals. The result is a treatment plan that feels like a curated journey: precise, well thought through and always aimed at preserving the natural quality of the skin.
