Skin tightening with plasma instead of an incision
Renuvion, also known as J-Plasma, is a modern method of skin tightening without a surgical incision. It combines cold helium plasma with radiofrequency energy: through small access points, a fine cannula is guided under the skin and delivers the plasma precisely. The deeper layers of skin are warmed, the tissue contracts immediately and forms new collagen over the following months.
The result: the skin becomes firmer and more elastic, without the scars and recovery time of surgical tightening. At Innerform in Berlin Mitte, we usually use Renuvion in combination with liposuction, so that contour and skin tightening are achieved in one step.

Renuvion is suitable for sagging skin with a moderate excess, where surgical tightening would be too much.
Tummy

Arms

Effect
How J-Plasma works under the skin
J-Plasma is ionised helium gas, delivered together with radiofrequency energy. The energy warms the deeper layers of skin and the connective tissue in a targeted way, while the surface is spared. Two effects work together: the tissue contracts immediately, which you can see straight after the treatment. And the warmth stimulates collagen production, which is why the skin continues to tighten over 3 to 6 months.

What to expect
What a Renuvion treatment involves
Consultation
We assess skin quality and excess and clarify whether Renuvion alone is enough or whether a combination with liposuction makes sense. We also decide on the anaesthetic here.
Treatment
Outpatient, under local anaesthetic or twilight sedation, or under general anaesthetic if combined with liposuction. Through small puncture points, the doctor guides the plasma cannula under the skin and treats the area evenly. Duration 1 to 2 hours, depending on the area.
Healing
A compression dressing supports the tissue. The treated areas are swollen and red for a few days, and slight bruising may remain for a few weeks. Downtime 5 to 7 days, the full effect shows after 3 to 6 months.
Anaesthetic
Local anaesthetic or twilight sedation, and general anaesthetic if combined with liposuction.
Recovery
Downtime 5 to 7 days, recovery period of 1 to 2 weeks with a compression dressing.
Scars
Only puncture points a millimetre small, no surgical incision.
Result
Visible immediately, final result after 3 to 6 months, permanent if weight remains stable.

For a moderate excess of skin, Renuvion is often the alternative to surgery. For comparison: the tummy tuck.
Which method is right is decided by the findings. With a pronounced apron of fat or rectus diastasis, there is no way around surgery.
Combination
Renuvion and VASERlipo in one session
Renuvion is usually carried out together with liposuction: VASERlipo removes the excess fat, and Renuvion tightens the skin above it straight afterwards. This creates the contour in a single procedure, and the skin follows the new shape instead of sagging. We also use this combination in lipoedema treatment. For skin rejuvenation, PRP or microneedling can be added.

For people with sagging skin and a moderate excess on the tummy, arms, thighs, back or face who would like to avoid surgical tightening. With a large excess, surgery is the better choice.
The treatment itself takes place under local anaesthetic, twilight sedation or general anaesthetic. Afterwards, slight pain or a feeling of tightness may occur, which can be managed well with painkillers.
Possible side effects are swelling, bruising, temporary numbness and skin irritation. Serious complications are rare. We discuss all risks in the consultation.
Permanent, as long as there are no major weight fluctuations. Natural skin ageing continues, but the tightening result remains.

The cost of Renuvion depends on the size and number of areas and on whether liposuction is added. As a guide: at Innerform, Renuvion starts from €2,500 per area, or from €1,500 as a complement to another procedure. We give you the binding price for your area after the consultation.
