In fat transfer breast augmentation, also known as fat grafting, fat is harvested from the abdomen, hips or thighs using VASERlipo, processed and injected into the breast. The result feels natural because it is your own tissue. No foreign body is inserted.
The method suits women who do not want implants, are aiming for an increase of about one cup size, and have enough fat elsewhere. Usually 200 to 400 ml are needed per breast. Part of the fat is absorbed by the body, so a second session after about six months may be worthwhile.

Like any surgery, breast augmentation carries risks. These include general surgical risks such as bleeding, swelling, bruising, infection and temporary altered sensation. With implants, capsular contracture, displacement and, in rare cases, rupture of the shell may also occur. The form-stable gel then usually stays within the scar capsule and should be removed surgically. With fat transfer, part of the fat may be absorbed or small cysts may form. With implants, the incision is in the inframammary fold or at the edge of the areola. With fat transfer, only small puncture sites remain at the harvesting and injection sites. In the first weeks the patient wears a support bra and avoids sport and heavy lifting. The final result becomes visible after a few months, once the swelling has gone down. Follow-up check-ups are included in both packages.
The result depends on body weight and changes with weight gain or loss. About one cup size is possible per session; further sessions need an interval of about six months. Very slim women often do not have enough fat to harvest. With a markedly sagging breast, a combination with a lift makes sense.
