Combination treatment for lipedema with Vaser & Renuvion
The combination of Vaser technology and Renuvion is considered to be one of the most modern and gentle forms of lipoedema treatment - it combines precise fat removal with controlled skin tightening in a single, tissue-sparing procedure. This means that lipoedema can not only be treated medically, but also aesthetically balanced - without additional surgery and without visible scars. The result is not only lighter, but also smoother and more even. At the same time, the combination shortens the healing phase, reduces swelling and makes the entire treatment experience much more pleasant for those affected.
A clinical picture that is both physically and mentally stressful
Anyone who lives with lipoedema knows the feeling of feeling strange in their own body. The legs or arms appear heavy, sensitive and disproportionate - no matter how healthy you live. Even exercise or weight loss hardly change the picture, because lipoedema is not a question of lifestyle, but a chronic fat distribution disorder. Classic lipoedema only affects women and usually occurs during hormonal upheaval phases. Typical symptoms are symmetrical accumulations of fat on the legs, hips or arms, accompanied by tenderness, a feeling of tightness and a characteristic tendency to bruise. The tissue is often painful and even minor bumps leave marks. Conservative measures such as lymphatic drainage or compression help to support the lymph flow, but cannot remove the abnormal fatty tissue. Only a surgical procedure can provide long-term relief - and the combination of Vaser & Renuvion is particularly suitable for this because it protects, shapes and tightens the tissue at the same time.
Vaser® and Renuvion®: the power couple in the treatment of lipoedema
The clinical picture was underestimated for a long time. Today we know: The cause can only be treated by removing the pathologically altered fatty tissue. However, not every liposuction is the same. Especially with sensitive lipoedema tissue, it is crucial to choose the method that is as gentle and precise as possible. What Vaser and Renuvion have in common is their perfect interaction. First, the abnormal fatty tissue is loosened and gently removed using Vaser. The skin is then tightened from the inside with Renuvion. The silhouette appears more defined, the tissue more compact, the skin firmer - and with significantly less recovery time than with traditional methods.
Vaser technology works with targeted ultrasound energy, which liquefies fat cells through fine vibrations without damaging surrounding structures. In contrast to conventional liposuction, the tissue is not mechanically roughened but gently loosened. This means less bruising, less swelling and less trauma. This is a decisive advantage, particularly for lipoedema, as the tissue reacts sensitively to pressure and injury. Thanks to the fine control that Vaser offers, abnormal fat cells can be specifically removed while vessels, lymph channels and nerves remain largely intact. The result: an even, harmonious contour and a significantly shorter healing phase.
After fat removal, the second, equally crucial step begins: tightening. This is because the connective tissue of lipoedema patients is often overstretched - the skin loses elasticity, especially after the fat has been removed. This is where Renuvion comes in. The technology uses a combination of cold helium plasma and radio frequency energy, which is applied specifically under the skin. The precise, controlled heat causes the tissue to contract, the collagen fibers to thicken and a visible tightening effect is created - without incisions, without surgical stitches, without scars. Renuvion works where other methods reach their limits: under the surface of the skin, directly in the connective tissue. The temperature peaks last only milliseconds, tightening the skin without overheating it. The result is a firmer, smoother appearance that continues to improve over the following months.
Procedure & healing phase
The treatment usually takes place under twilight sleep or local anesthesia and lasts two to four hours, depending on the region. After a short observation phase, the patient can go home the same day. In the first few days, there may be slight swelling or a feeling of tightness, but this subsides quickly. Compression garments are worn for around four to six weeks to provide optimum support for the tissue. Everyday activities are possible again after around two weeks, and sports after four weeks. The final result is seen over three to six months, when the tissue has fully regenerated and the new collagen has stabilized. Many patients describe the moment after healing as liberating - the legs feel lighter, the sensitivity to pressure disappears, clothes fit differently. The body sensation changes fundamentally.
Despite superiority: not a standard and not covered by health insurance companies.
Although the combination of Vaser and Renuvion is considered particularly gentle and effective in specialist circles, it has only been offered in a few specialized clinics to date. This is less due to its effectiveness than to its technical demands and cost structure. Both procedures require a high level of experience, precise timing and a deep understanding of the anatomical conditions - particularly in the case of sensitive lipoedema tissue. At the same time, the devices are complex and expensive to purchase, and the procedure is time-consuming and technically complex. In addition, health insurance companies base their approval of treatments solely on medical necessity and not on the aesthetic result. Procedures such as Vaser and Renuvion are considered advanced, gentle on the tissue and aesthetically superior, but are more expensive than classic liposuctions. As they tighten the skin, harmonize contours and thus go beyond mere symptom relief, they fall into the area of self-pay services. In practice, this means that even if patients achieve less pain, a lighter silhouette and a more lasting result with this method, health insurance companies do not usually cover the costs.
During a consultation at Innerform, costs and, if necessary, different payment methods can of course also be discussed.
