Surgical upper eyelid lift is typically the treatment of choice, especially for genetically caused drooping eyelids or when sagging skin and tissue are already impairing vision. This procedure generally yields the most noticeable and long-lasting results.
During the procedure, excess skin, any sagging muscle tissue, and protruding fat deposits are removed. The incision is made along the natural crease of the eyelid, so that the resulting scar is barely visible.
Laser Upper Eyelid Lift in Berlin
Fraxel® laser treatment is a minimally invasive procedure that uses fine pulses of light. Through thermal stimulation and controlled micro-injuries, it stimulates collagen production and improves skin texture, resulting in a more youthful, refined complexion, fewer wrinkles, and a slight tightening of the skin.

One non-invasive treatment method we use for upper eyelid lifts is Thermage®. This technique uses radiofrequency technology to precisely heat the deeper layers of the skin. This, in turn, stimulates collagen production and tightens the existing tissue.
Similar to laser treatment, this improves the skin’s texture, making the eye area appear firmer and smoother. In addition to the face, this method can also be used on other areas of the body, such as the neck, upper arms, abdomen, thighs, or knees.

1. Consultation, Examinations & Preparation
Before eyelid surgery, a thorough examination, medical history review, and photographic documentation are conducted to determine the individual treatment plan. The specific causes of drooping eyelids are always a key factor: for example, if the eyebrows have sagged, a brow lift may sometimes be more appropriate than a simple upper eyelid lift. If, on the other hand, there is simply excess skin on the upper eyelid or if there are bags under the eyes or fat protrusions on the lower eyelid, surgical, minimally invasive, or non-invasive tightening of the corresponding eyelid area may be the better choice.
2. Treatment
On the day of the procedure, local anesthesia is administered; if desired, twilight sedation or general anesthesia may also be used. The procedure typically lasts between one and two hours, depending on whether only the upper eyelids, only the lower eyelids, or both areas are being treated.
3. Recovery and Aftercare
Immediately after the procedure, swelling and bruising around the eyes are normal and can be reduced by applying cold compresses regularly and keeping the upper body slightly elevated. These side effects will then subside significantly within about one to two weeks.
The stitches are removed after about seven to ten days. Social activities are usually possible again after about ten to fourteen days. The final result becomes visible after a few months, once all the swelling has subsided.
