What our patients say about us

What is rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to alter the shape of the nose. There are two types of rhinoplasty: closed and open:

  • A minimally invasive, closed surgical technique that leaves no visible scars
  • Open surgical technique with a small, barely visible scar

Reasons for Rhinoplasty

Not everyone is happy with their nose. If it is too large, too wide, too long, or has an unusual shape, it can disrupt the harmony of the face. But the nose’s function can also be impaired, hindering breathing and thereby causing health problems.

A precisely planned, customized rhinoplasty can be the solution here. We do not aim for a standardized ideal of beauty, but rather a nose shape that harmonizes with the rest of the face in terms of size and contours—looking natural and unique from every angle.

The Benefits of Rhinoplasty

  • aesthetic balance
  • breathe more freely and easily
  • often also leads to an improved self-image and sense of well-being

How can the nose be corrected through surgery?

Depending on the patient’s anatomical condition, the nose can be made smaller, straightened, narrowed, the tip refined, or a bump removed (cosmetic rhinoplasty). Functional issues, such as obstructed nasal breathing, can also be addressed and improved during the procedure.

Procedure: Rhinoplasty at Innerform in Berlin

1. Preparation

A detailed consultation takes place before the actual surgery. During this consultation, we not only discuss your wishes and expectations, but also analyze your individual facial anatomy. In many cases, we also use a digital simulation to develop a realistic visual representation of the desired outcome.

Day 2 of treatment

The procedure itself is usually performed under general anesthesia and takes about 1.5 to 3 hours.

Depending on the technique used (open or closed), the skin is either released through a small incision on the bridge of the nose or entirely from the inside, allowing us to precisely reshape the underlying structures—bone and cartilage. In doing so, we pay particular attention to ensuring structural stability, a natural shape, and scarring that is as inconspicuous as possible.

3. Aftercare & Healing Process

In the first few days after the procedure, you should keep your head elevated and avoid physical exertion. To keep the nose stable, aftercare includes wearing a nasal splint or a nasal cast. Cooling, rest, and decongestant medications also aid in healing.

In addition, the nose will be particularly sensitive for a few weeks. Therefore, glasses should not rest directly on it, and sunbathing and sports should be avoided for the time being.

To ensure optimal healing and to detect and treat any swelling or hardening at an early stage, we also schedule regular follow-up appointments.

Results and Duration: When will you see the final results?

The final result develops gradually. The cast is removed after about 10 days, and most of the visible swelling subsides after two to three weeks. However, slight residual swelling—especially at the tip of the nose—may persist for several months.

Once healing is complete, the new shape of the nose will be permanent.

The cost of rhinoplasty in Berlin

The cost of rhinoplasty depends primarily on,

  • which clinic or practice is chosen,
  • whether an open or closed rhinoplasty is performed and
  • what changes are to be made to the nose (straightening, reduction, narrowing, or removal of the bump).

In addition, some medical practices and clinics also bill items such as medications and follow-up appointments separately.

At Innerform in Berlin, however, we offer customized treatment packages that include all essential services, starting at just €6,500.

How long does the nose stay swollen after rhinoplasty?

The swelling subsides gradually after the surgery: most of it goes down within the first three weeks. However, slight residual swelling—especially around the tip of the nose—may persist for up to 12 months. These changes are usually only noticeable to the trained eye.

Can a rhinoplasty also be performed purely functionally?

Yes. In many cases, a procedure known as septoplasty (straightening of the nasal septum) can improve nasal breathing. At Innerform, however, we only offer aesthetic or functional-aesthetic corrections, as we do not bill health insurance companies.

Are the results of rhinoplasty really permanent?

Yes, once the healing is complete, the aesthetic result is permanent. The nose ages like any other part of the body, but it does not "deform" again.

Is there a risk that the nose will look artificial after the operation?

Not with a well-planned and professionally performed rhinoplasty. The aim is always to achieve a harmonious, natural-looking result that suits the individual facial anatomy - not a "one-size-fits-all" nose.

How painful is a rhinoplasty?

Most patients experience a feeling of pressure rather than severe pain after the procedure. Mild discomfort may occur in the first few days, but can be easily treated with standard painkillers.

Can you breathe through your nose after nose surgery?

Immediately after rhinoplasty, breathing may be restricted—mainly due to internal swelling. However, nasal breathing improves significantly after just a few days.

When can I resume exercising after a rhinoplasty?

Light physical activity is usually possible again two weeks after nose surgery. However, you should avoid strenuous exercise, especially contact sports, for 6–8 weeks so as not to jeopardize the results.

How long do you have to wear a splint after rhinoplasty?

The external nasal splint is typically worn for 7–10 days after surgery. It protects the new shape of the nose during the initial healing phase and should remain dry and intact until it is removed.
